The Palestinian Centre for Development and Media Freedoms (MADA) Centre says: such practices by the occupation authorities are in the context of repeated aggression against the Palestinian media, since the occupation of the Palestinian territories in 1967, and are a serious violation of freedom of opinion and expression. Mada appeals to the international community, particularly human rights organizations, and press freedoms institutions to move seriously to put pressure on the Israeli government to reopen the radio, and to stop attacks on media outlets in the occupied Palestinian territories, which are contrary to all international covenants, in particular article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. 11 March 2008
