The Palestinian Centre for Development and Media Freedoms (MADA) Centre says: such practices by the occupation authorities are in the context of repeated aggression against the Palestinian media, since the occupation of the Palestinian territories in 1967, and are a serious violation of freedom of opinion and expression.
Mada appeals to the international community, particularly human rights organizations, and press freedoms institutions to move seriously to put pressure on the Israeli government to reopen the radio, and to stop attacks on media outlets in the occupied Palestinian territories, which are contrary to all international covenants, in particular article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.  11 March 2008

The International Covenant for the protection of Journalists (ICPJ) condemns the military attack against a building in Southern Gaza
where journalists took refuge

Calls upon the IFJ, AFJ, PSJ and the Israeli Journalists Association to embark on an immediate investigation

GENEVA, December 12 (ICPJ) The International Covenant for the Protection of Journalists (ICPJ), an NGO based in Geneva, condemned today the Israeli military attack against a building in Southern Gaza where journalists took refuge during Israel's military incursion Tuesday.

As the tanks bombarded the house, walls fell on the dead and the living.

The ICPJ calls upon the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) and the Arab Federation of Journalists (AFJ), as well as the Palestinian Syndicate of Journalists and the Israeli Association of journalists to dispatch immediately a fact finding mission and to start an investigation in this tragic event.

The Geneva based NGO called upon the four associations to make the results of this investigation public.
